What should we expect to see on sale this week? There are some things you should be on the look out for...
Brands to watch this week:
*Kraft: watch for sales on cheese, Mac & Cheese, Capri Sun, and salad dressing. Because it's "Frozen Foods Month", you'll also expect to see some DiGiornio pizzas on sale this week (who knew there was a frozen food month?). You'll probably also see sales on Jell-o pudding, Oreos, and other Kraft snack-type products.
*Campbells: Winter's not over yet, so watch for sales on soup as March tends to be a good month to move soup inventory off store shelves. It's still cold enough to want to have a hot bowl of soup for dinner.
Falling prices this week:
Butter: I have been seeing butter as low as $0.99 per pound. If you find them at this price, consider stockpiling (butter freezes very well). The reason for the sale is a combination of 1). anticipating Easter baking and 2). falling commodity prices in dairy.
Ice Cream: A double whammy: frozen food item and falling dairy commodity, watch for premium brands to be under $2.50
Beef/Corned beef: The normal price is $3.59 to $3.99 per pound. I have found them for as low as $1.48 per pound over the past week. This is the week to stock up.
Grapes: This family favorite will be relatively inexpensive in most areas this week; watch for prices as low as $0.99 per pound.
Bottled Juices: from Tropicana to Ocean Spray you can see juice as low as $1.00 for a 64oz container. Combining with coupons could mean some free juice (see my previous blog for double coupons at Kmart!)
